My Take On Apple Pie

Practice Makes Perfect

 

As we all know thanksgiving is coming up . It’s one of my favorite holiday and christmas as well . love the lights and gifts,family and presents . They don’t call me betty crocker for nothing folks . Once you find the perfect pie crust , you know you have to fill said pie . Finding the pie filling with not a lot of sugar or junk in it is very hard . So Taking a pie filling and making it at home is so much fun . You actually get to see what goes in it and know that what you’re putting into your body is great . Apple pie is a huge favorite in this house . So that is what we are tackling today . The World Of Apples

Did you know how many different types of apples there are  ?? Counted like 12 different types of apple in The store . Now when Making an apple pie you want the sweetest apples in order to make said pie . In case you’re wondering which apples we settled on it’s golden delicious apples . Those apples are so sweet and amazing that We buy them by the bag full . Plus a bag only cost 2.99 so not too bad on the wallet either . Find things to make your life of baking easier as well would be an apple slicer as well . FYI they sell them for maybe 5 bucks at walmart . so without further ado here’s what you will need .

 

Recipe As Follows :

1 Tablespoon of fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons of brown sugar (stevia has it in brown sugar )

to use regular brown sugar would be 3/4 cup

3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg

pinch of salt

Once you have mixed all the ingredients in a large bowl . Put a cover of the bowl and leave in the fridge for 10 mins . to bring out all the flavor and juices from the apples .

once you have created your dough and put the apples in it . brush the top of your pie with this mix .

1 large egg

little bit of water

1 teaspoon of sugar

brush this mix over the top to get a nice golden brown looking pie . We cover our pie with foil as to not burn said crust while baking . I left mine in for 40 mins at 350 . even with the foil on it looked great .
